Canadiana Event

In 2015, SCI Ontario celebrated its 70th anniversary, culminating in a Gala event in the autumn. The Resource Development team embarked on a quest to infuse the celebration with a distinctly Canadiana theme, seeking to honor the organization’s heritage while embracing the diversity of the Canadian landscape.

After extensive brainstorming and creative exploration, we conceived the idea of bringing the essence of the great outdoors indoors, intertwining it with Canada’s rich Indigenous history and cultural heritage. Elements such as a flowing water creek, symbolic canoe, towering trees, and evocations of the “Great Spirit” and Totem Poles were envisioned to evoke a sense of unity and reverence for Canada’s natural and cultural tapestry.

This ambitious vision required collaboration from a diverse team of landscapers, artists, and event staff at the Grand Luxe Banquet Hall. Together, we transformed the venue into a seamless fusion of Canada’s East and West, where thematic elements harmonized to create a captivating and immersive experience.

Complemented by an array of culinary delights, the Gala became a showcase of Canadian ingenuity and hospitality, offering attendees a beautiful and unforgettable evening that celebrated the essence of Canada’s spirit and heritage.
